Austin Bartending School

Hi My Name is Jim Shearer and I am the owner of Texas School of Bartenders. I would Like to take this time to say thanks for your Interest in my school.

I started The Texas School of Bartenders in 1987 on South Congress. The Havana Cafe's kitchen is now where the old school was. WOW, that was along time ago and my how Austin has changed. Of Course 6th Street has been around for ever. We started placing our graduates there right when we opened. To make ends meet I bartended at Toulouse at the corner of 6th and Trinity.

There were only 2 places to have a drink in what is now the 4th street / Warehouse District. (Liberty Lunch and The Spaghetti Warehouse). The only businesses in that part of town were Warehouses. That's where the name "The Warehouse District came from.

To the North Austin STOPPED at the Arboretum. Hard to image because how far out Highway 183 runs now !!! I suppose you are wondering what this has to do with you learning how to bartend and allowing me to train you? My answer is simple. I have been around long enough to know what you are looking for and how to get you there.

We have established and wonderful working relationship with just about every conceivable Night Club , Restaurant , Hotel , Country Club and anything in between. This is way our job placement percentages are so high.

Texas School of Bartenders is lactated in Central Austin just North of The University of Texas Campus on North Lamar. We offer a 1 and 2 week course (I recommend the 2 week program ). We have 3 different class times ( Morning Class is From 9:30am to 1:30pm , Afternoon from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm and Evening from 6pm to 10pm ) Monday thru Friday.

What we would like to do is have you come by the school watch us work with out students. This way you can see how we train. I think you will like what you see.
